First Community Bank (FCB) of East Tennessee recently announced a new addition to the team as well as two promotions. 

D. Lynn Salyers

D. Lynn Salyers has joined the bank as vice president, commercial lender and administration.  In his dual role, he will be responsible for commercial loan and deposit growth and assist with credit analysis and underwriting.

The Scott County native is a graduate of Gate City High School and Mountain Empire Community College.  With more than 30 years of financial services experience, Salyers previously served as the branch manager of Southern Finance Corporation in Weber City, Va.  He currently resides in Blountville, Tenn., and has two children, Logan and Avery.

Stephanie Potts
Stephanie Potts

FCB VP Stephanie Potts has been named security officer.  In her new role, she is responsible for all aspects of the bank’s physical security infrastructure as well as staff training on security procedures and response. 

Potts will continue in her business development and lender role in Hawkins County and the surrounding areas as well as facilities manager for all seven FCB branch locations.

A graduate of Gate City High School, Potts attended Mountain Empire Community College and also graduated from the Southern School of Consumer Credit.  She was named Best of the Best Loan Officer in Hawkins County by the Rogersville Review in 2017 and named the 2018 Lender of the Year by the FCB Board of Directors.  Potts and her husband, Chris, reside in Gate City with her two children, Kierra and Eli Starnes.     

Cathy Trent

Cathy Trent has been promoted to assistant vice president and controller. She will continue her role as the accounting department supervisor overseeing a staff of five.  With more than 20 years of accounting experience, she has been with FCB for 17 years. 

A Spring City, Tenn. native, Trent attended Tennessee Tech and the University of Tennessee.  She currently resides in Rogersville with her husband and daughter.
